I've been debating on whether I should post this review or not. But I think it's important that other vehicle owners know what could happen if they bring their vehicle in. Do NOT assume that they will do what they say, and BEWARE of going here if you're a woman!! My husband and I brought my Subaru here because we were eager to avoid Ramsey, based on past experiences. We knew my car had a possible head gasket problem. Beckleys and our advisor Corey were more than happy to take that gravy job. We were happy that they worked with our warranty company, we ended up paying little. My husband made sure to ask Corey to have the tech go over it and see if everything else was in good condition. He said the car could easily go another 100,000 miles. After we got the car back, it started acting strange. After a few days of driving it I took it back to Beckleys and had Corey drive it so that he could see what I was talking about. He immediately told me the clutch was the problem. I'm not sure he has much experience driving manual, he seemed to stumble over it a lot. He was VERY condescending and wouldn't listen to anything I had to say. We ended up having a new friend, that's a certified Subaru master tech, put in the clutch for much less. Still the problem persisted. He then took a look at the spark plugs, something the tech at Beckleys should have done. They were in such bad condition its a wonder my car could run at all. I feel like they didn't want to fix something so easy and cheap to do, because they would rather keep us coming back. They wanted us to pay over $1500 for a new clutch. Which of course backfired. I'll never recommend Beckleys to anyone. My car is now in great condition, no thanks to Corey and the techs at Beckleys.
If I understand your letter you are unhappy with the way Corey listened to you on your second visit to Beckley’s, and that your car needed more work after we told you it looked good. Regarding Corey, I’ve never heard a report like that before and typically receive very good reviews in this area. I spoke to him about your concerns. We want everyone to feel like they were treated respectfully. Regarding the additional work your car needed; First, the spark plugs. Based on no complaints of a running problem or check engine light and our physical inspection of the plugs, which looked serviceable, we chose to reuse them. Also, since your warranty company would not authorize replacement we thought you’d prefer to save the money. I’m sorry that decision didn’t work out. (Note - Were you aware your picture compares two different kinds of spark plugs?) Finally, the clutch. If I understand correctly, the problem is not whether your car needed a clutch since your Subaru friend also determined it needed replacement. The problem is why we didn’t tell you to replace it when the car was in the shop the first time. We assumed you knew how the clutch felt and were satisfied with it since you drove it in that way with no complaint. And, since it was your first visit, we wanted to resolve the problem you brought your car in for (oil leak) without additional expense. Obviously we were too optimistic about your clutch. I hope this addresses your concerns and trust the head gasket we replaced is working properly.
