Poor communication that resulted in Beckley taking advantage of me was the outcome of this visit. After a longer-term relationship with Beckley, Jon Shelby failed to inform me during the appointment call that your organization had made a management decision to no longer work on vehicles over 20 years old. My intention was to have the valve cover gaskets and front brakes replaced on our 2000 VW Euro van; two items that have been on our watch list. You left me in a position of weakness, shame on Beckley. Everyone's time is valuable, and Jon / Beckley wasted mine. The outcome is that we will not bring our 2018 Highlander or other vehicles to Beckley. We live downtown and will spread the word to our friends about how Beckley has changed for the worse under the new management. Beckley’s arrogant attitude is not the image your organization was built on.
Mr. Pierson, I'm sorry your last visit with us left you feeling this way. It sounds like we needed to do a better job of explaining the situation to you. We used to have a technician that was familiar with Eurovans but he retired about 5 years ago, since then we have worked on 3 Eurovans one of them being yours. The Eurovan is a very unique vehicle which requires someone with experience to work on them. Our Current VW technician has very little experience with Eurovans, and the newest Eurovan is now 20 years old. Our Service advisor did provide you with a very good referral to another shop that has someone who is very good with Eurovans. We are happy to provide basic maintenance on your vehicle but when it comes more in depth repairs we are going to refer you to someone that has more experience. Again I apologize for any confusion and I'm happy to discuss this with you further if you have questions. Sincerely, Beckley Automotive
